Travel template

The bustling city of Tel Aviv lies at the center of Gush Dan, which, as well as attracting visitors to experience its lively nightlife and vibrant festivals, also features a glorious Mediterranean shoreline.

Close by, Herzliya is one of the most popular beach resorts both for domestic and incoming tourists, featuring a wide range of hotels, as well as excellent beaches, swimming, restaurants and bars.

Visitors can also take a tour of Herzliya’s museum which is situated in an historic house on Ha-Nadiv Street. The museum contains historical material dating back to the 1920’s including many journals, tapes and photographs, as well as a permanent exhibit of objects dating back to early settlers.

There are many other notable attractions to see in the Gush Dan within easy access of Herzliya. For example, the famous Muslim holy site, Sidna Ali which contains the tomb of Abi ibn Alil. To the northwest, the Tel Arsaf archaeological site is home to impressive remains dating back over 2500 years including the remains of the Crusader town of Arsur and its fortress.

The Apollonia National Park is situated just north of Herzliya on the coastal plain and is home to the remains of a Crusader city only excavated in recent years. The park offers touring routes for suitable for experienced and novice hikers as well as a trail for disabled travelers. A highlight of a visit here is the Roman Villa and the cliff-top Crusader fortress which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.
